The sofa or writing table
The Classic Chairs model has all the features of the most elegant sofa or writing tables. Raised on the end supports with a high stretcher, and with cock beading on all sides, this table can stand centrally in a room or be used as a dressing or library table. Sofa tables became popular in the very late 18th century, and were often placed behind or in front of a sofa and just as often used as writing or reading tables.
