A LARGE PAIR of GREEN MARBLE & ORMOLU STANDING URNS
Marble Urns MILot1:90E:
A very imposing pair of beautifully coloured verdi antico marble urns embellished with cast and gilded ormolu.
They have gilded metal acorn top finials, and are separated by bands of gilded rings moulded with raised classical designs. The whole resting on gilded rococo leg stands.
These types of imposing and decorative marble urns were mainly used in the 18th and 19th centuries in entrance ways to show status and wealth.
Some rubbing to the gilding. One gilded ring is missing. (dismantles into pieces for transport.)
When assembled they measure 1.05 m high
