Chinoiserie shelves
Not only great to look at, the Chinoiserie shelves are also a great size for books and decorative items, and because they are relatively narrow from front to back they are useful in narrow hallways or where space is constricted. However, modern hardbacks will still fit comfortably.
Among the many decorative details are the fretwork side panels, and grouped columns are carved for the decorative supports.
An incised frieze runs round the plinth base on its shaped bracket feet. This is echoed round the top.
