A very sturdy chair suitable for family use or for commercial situations. It owes its inspiration to Robert author of the quaintly titled pattern book “The Cabinet and Chair Maker’s True Friend and Companion” published in 1765. Although he was a contemporary and a competitor to Thomas Chippendale, the designs of both were remarkably similar. This deceptively simple chair features the typical gracefully pierced splat of the period, and has a chamfered detail to the inside of the moulded leg and an H stretcher for durability and strength. It is pictured here with 2 parallel rows of individually applied upholstery nails, or it can be finished with piping or braid or gimp.
